February 2025 Newsletter

Greetings to all,

This month has been a busy one, with several meetings and ongoing preparations for the upcoming Honeybee Festival. Some of our members attended the Bushy Park Show, where we hosted a stall showcasing our honey and promoting our membership, support, advice, and educational programs. The event was a huge success—we sold honey and made valuable connections to recruit more members and vendors for the festival.

Next year, we encourage members to enter their honey into the show to represent Derwent Valley Honey.

We’ve also welcomed many new members and students into our beekeeping course, which was available in both morning and evening sessions. Our January meeting had a great turnout, followed by a relaxing sausage sizzle. Moving forward, we aim to shorten meeting times to allow for more educational sessions and socializing.
